This Personal Use License explains what you may and may not do with any personalized song, audio file, lyric video, photo lyric video, or other digital deliverable provided by My Lyra Song.
By placing an order, submitting payment, downloading a file, receiving a deliverable, sharing a deliverable, or otherwise using any My Lyra Song deliverable, you agree to this Personal Use License, our Terms of Service, Refund Policy, Upload Policy, and Privacy Policy.

- Overview
My Lyra Song provides personalized digital songs and optional digital add-ons for personal, private, non-commercial use.
When you purchase a personalized song or add-on, you receive a limited personal-use license to use the final delivered file as described in this Personal Use License.
You do not receive ownership of the copyright, master recording rights, publishing rights, composition rights, neighboring rights, synchronization rights, commercial rights, distribution rights, or any other intellectual property rights unless we expressly agree otherwise in a separate written agreement signed by us.
- License Granted
Subject to your compliance with this Personal Use License and our Terms of Service, My Lyra Song grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the final delivered song or video for personal, private, non-commercial purposes.
This means you may:
a. listen to the song personally;
b. send the song privately to the intended recipient;
c. play the song for family, friends, or private guests;
d. use the song as a personal gift;
e. play the song at a private, non-commercial personal event;
f. download and store the delivered file for personal use;
g. share the file privately with people connected to the personal occasion;
h. use a personal-use photo lyric video privately for gift purposes.
- Personal Use Only
All standard My Lyra Song deliverables are for personal use only.
“Personal use” means private, non-commercial use by you, the intended recipient, your family, your friends, or people personally connected to the occasion.
Personal use does not include any business, promotional, monetized, public, commercial, political, advertising, fundraising, broadcasting, licensing, distribution, resale, or revenue-generating use.
- No Commercial Use
You may not use any My Lyra Song deliverable for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.
Prohibited commercial uses include, but are not limited to:
a. advertising or promoting a business, product, service, brand, artist, influencer, company, nonprofit, campaign, or public event;
b. using the song in paid or sponsored content;
c. using the song in monetized videos, social media posts, channels, livestreams, podcasts, or broadcasts;
d. using the song in business marketing, client presentations, sales materials, or promotional campaigns;
e. selling, reselling, licensing, sublicensing, renting, leasing, distributing, or otherwise commercially exploiting the song;
f. using the song in film, television, games, apps, commercials, trailers, reels, public advertisements, or paid media;
g. using the song for political campaigns, advocacy campaigns, fundraising, public relations, or organizational messaging;
h. using the song as part of a commercial wedding business, event business, photography package, videography package, DJ service, or entertainment service.
- No Streaming Release or Music Distribution
You may not upload, release, distribute, monetize, or publish any My Lyra Song deliverable as a commercial or public music release.
This includes, but is not limited to, uploading or distributing the song to:
a. Spotify;
b. Apple Music;
c. Amazon Music;
d. YouTube Music;
e. SoundCloud for monetized or public release;
f. Bandcamp for sale or public release;
g. TikTok Music or commercial music libraries;
h. Instagram Music libraries;
i. Facebook/Meta music libraries;
j. digital distributors;
k. record labels;
l. publishing administrators;
m. royalty collection platforms;
n. any streaming, download, licensing, or commercial music platform.
- No Content ID or Rights Management Claims
You may not register, upload, fingerprint, claim, monetize, block, track, or administer any My Lyra Song deliverable through any rights management system.
This includes, but is not limited to:
a. YouTube Content ID;
b. Meta Rights Manager;
c. TikTok rights management systems;
d. Audible Magic;
e. copyright fingerprinting systems;
f. digital distribution rights systems;
g. performing rights organizations;
h. mechanical rights organizations;
i. neighboring rights organizations;
j. publishing administration services;
k. copyright enforcement services.
You may not make ownership claims, monetization claims, copyright claims, takedown claims, blocking claims, or platform disputes based on any My Lyra Song deliverable.
- No Copyright Transfer
Your purchase does not transfer copyright ownership to you.
You do not own the copyright in the composition, lyrics, melody, arrangement, production, recording, master, video, design, workflow, prompts, templates, creative process, or any other element of the deliverable.
You may not claim that you wrote, composed, produced, arranged, recorded, created, own, or exclusively control the deliverable unless we expressly authorize that in writing.
- No Work Made for Hire
No My Lyra Song deliverable is a “work made for hire.”
Your purchase does not create an employer-employee relationship, commissioning ownership relationship, exclusive authorship relationship, publishing relationship, record label relationship, or copyright assignment.
Any rights not expressly granted to you in this Personal Use License are reserved by My Lyra Song.
- No Exclusive Rights
Your license is non-exclusive.
This means that My Lyra Song may use similar styles, genres, themes, moods, instruments, structures, chord progressions, lyric concepts, production methods, workflows, prompts, tools, templates, emotional themes, and creative approaches for other customers or projects.
You do not receive exclusivity over any general musical idea, style, lyric theme, title concept, arrangement style, vocal style, genre, production method, or creative direction.
- Customer Personal Details
The personal details you submit may be used to personalize your order.
You retain whatever rights you lawfully own in the personal information, photos, stories, names, and materials you submit. However, you grant My Lyra Song the right to use those materials as needed to create, produce, deliver, support, and maintain records relating to your order, as described in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to submit any names, stories, photos, likenesses, private details, or other materials relating to any person.
- Sharing on Social Media
You may share short portions or personal-use versions of a deliverable on your personal social media accounts only for private, non-commercial gift-sharing purposes, provided that:
a. the post is not monetized;
b. the post is not sponsored;
c. the post does not promote a business, product, service, brand, campaign, or paid offering;
d. you do not claim ownership of the song;
e. you do not register or submit the song to any rights management system;
f. you comply with the rules of the social media platform;
g. you have permission from any identifiable people whose names, photos, likenesses, or personal details appear in the post.
We reserve the right to request removal of any public post that violates this Personal Use License, our Terms of Service, or the rights of any person.
- Private Events
You may play the deliverable at a private, personal, non-commercial event, such as a private birthday gathering, family dinner, proposal, anniversary, private wedding moment, private memorial, or personal celebration.
This permission does not include public performance rights, commercial event use, broadcast use, ticketed event use, venue-wide commercial use, livestream monetization, public advertising, or use by event vendors as part of their commercial services.
If a venue, platform, or organization requires public performance, synchronization, commercial, or other rights, those rights are not included.
- Wedding and Event Use
If your song is created for a wedding, first dance, parent dance, proposal, anniversary, or other personal event, you may use it privately for that personal occasion.
However, the song may not be used by wedding planners, videographers, photographers, DJs, venues, event companies, or other vendors for marketing, reels, portfolios, advertisements, public promotion, paid packages, or commercial use unless we provide written permission.
- Photo Lyric Videos
If you purchase a Photo Lyric Video or similar video add-on, the video is also licensed for personal use only.
You may not use the video for commercial, promotional, monetized, advertising, public campaign, resale, sublicensing, or distribution purposes.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to use and submit all photos, images, names, likenesses, and personal details included in the video.
- No Editing, Remixing, or Derivative Works for Commercial Use
You may not edit, remix, sample, interpolate, rearrange, reproduce, re-record, translate, adapt, distribute, or create derivative works from any My Lyra Song deliverable for commercial or public distribution purposes.
You may make ordinary personal-use copies or file format conversions for private listening or private gift use only.
- No Resale or Transfer
You may not sell, resell, license, sublicense, assign, transfer, give away as a commercial asset, distribute as a product, include in a paid package, or otherwise transfer rights in any deliverable.
The license is granted only to the customer who purchased the order for the intended personal-use purpose.
- No Use in Harmful or Unlawful Contexts
You may not use any deliverable in a way that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, deceptive, exploitative, invasive of privacy, infringing, obscene, or otherwise harmful.
You may not use any deliverable to impersonate another person, harass a recipient, violate a restraining order, disclose private information without permission, exploit a minor, or manipulate someone in an abusive manner.
- No Guarantee of Platform Acceptance
We do not guarantee that any platform will allow, approve, display, promote, monetize, index, distribute, or continue hosting any deliverable.
Third-party platforms have their own rules, automated systems, music policies, copyright filters, content moderation systems, and account policies.
A platform issue does not expand your license rights.
- License Revocation
We may revoke or terminate your license if you violate this Personal Use License, the Terms of Service, the Refund Policy, the Upload Policy, or applicable law.
If your license is revoked, you must stop using, sharing, distributing, posting, or displaying the deliverable and delete or remove any unauthorized copies where reasonably possible.
- No Refund for License Restrictions
These license restrictions are part of the purchase terms.
No refund will be provided because you later want commercial use, copyright ownership, streaming rights, monetization rights, Content ID rights, public distribution rights, resale rights, or any rights not included in this Personal Use License.
- Requesting Additional Rights
If you want commercial rights, public release rights, streaming distribution rights, advertising rights, synchronization rights, or any use outside this Personal Use License, you must contact us in advance at hello@mylyrasong.com.
Additional rights are not guaranteed and, if available, may require a separate written agreement and additional fees.
No additional rights are granted unless confirmed in writing by My Lyra Song.
- Relationship to Other Policies
This Personal Use License is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.
If there is a conflict between this Personal Use License and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service will control unless this Personal Use License provides a more specific rule about permitted or prohibited uses.
- Changes to This Personal Use License
We may update this Personal Use License from time to time.
The updated version will be posted on the website with a revised effective date.
The license in effect at the time of purchase will generally apply to that order, except where changes are required by law or where a later version provides additional permitted uses.
